Islamic Finance Promotion and Development
Sharia-Compliant SME Finance Consortium
Cooperation with financial institutions and regulators to widen access to Sharia-compliant financing for member enterprises.
- Focus area
- Islamic Finance
- Locations
- Abuja & Nairobi

This consortium advances ICTI’s mandate to build understanding of Islamic finance and to encourage cooperation with financial institutions and regulators, with the aim of expanding access to Sharia-compliant financing and broader financial inclusion.
Small and medium enterprises across member states consistently report financing access — not demand — as the binding constraint on growth. The consortium convenes lenders, regulators and member businesses to work on the structures that would make Sharia-compliant SME lending practical at scale.
ICTI is not a financial institution and does not lend, underwrite, place or arrange financing. Its role is convening, advocacy and capacity building; every financing arrangement is a matter between the member and a regulated institution.
Scheduling, participating chapters and published outcomes for this initiative will appear here once confirmed by the Secretariat.
