ICTI’s mandate here is to support awareness of Halal standards, consumer confidence, and access to Halal markets — while recognising that certification arrangements themselves must be confirmed with the competent authorities.
Divergent requirements between markets are a recurring cost for member exporters: product that satisfies one jurisdiction’s regime may require re-certification for another. These forums examine where that divergence is substantive and where it is merely procedural.
ICTI does not issue, accredit or endorse Halal certification, and nothing discussed at these forums substitutes for the requirements of a competent certifying authority.
