After successful pilots in Lusaka, the chapter is scaling its mobile micro-financing for cooperatives and smallholder producers in southern provinces.

Key Highlights

  • Asset-backed seasonal financing for cooperative producer groups
  • Transparent mobile-ledger tracking integrated with payment rails
  • Agronomy support strengthening repayment capacity and harvest yields

ICTI Zambia is scaling its mobile Islamic financing program from Lusaka to the southern agricultural belt, bringing Sharia-compliant micro-finance directly to farming cooperatives.

The mobile-ledger model allows producer groups to apply for asset-backed seasonal financing, track repayments transparently, and receive proceeds through licensed payment rails.

Regional agronomy partners will support recipients with input planning and harvest forecasting to strengthen repayment capacity and food outputs.

Targeted onboarding workshops are scheduled across the key production districts in the coming weeks.

“Accessible ethical finance must travel to the farmer, not the other way around.”
